Role Overview

As a Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist at Bay Regional Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in our healthcare system by assisting in the collection and processing of blood samples. Your attention to detail and adherence to strict protocols will ensure accurate test results, contributing to the overall patient care we provide.

Your Responsibilities

  • Collecting blood samples from patients and ensuring proper labeling and handling
  • Preparing samples for laboratory analysis, maintaining sample integrity
  • Performing venipunctures and capillary blood collection
  • Ensuring a safe and clean work environment, following infection control procedures
  • Providing exceptional patient care and ensuring their comfort throughout the process

Required Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Valid certification as a Phlebotomist or relevant healthcare certification
  • Prior experience in phlebotomy or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of blood collection techniques and protocols
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle high-stress situations
