The Role of a Neurodiagnostic Tech
As a Neurodiagnostic Tech at Bay Regional Medical Center, you will be responsible for performing various diagnostic procedures to assess the function of the nervous system. You will work closely with our team of healthcare professionals, including neurologists and other specialists, to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of neurological disorders.
Responsibilities
- Conducting routine and specialized electroencephalogram (EEG) tests
- Performing nerve conduction studies (NCS)
- Assisting in the monitoring of intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring (IONM)
- Preparing and instructing patients on the procedures and answering any questions or concerns they may have
- Accurately documenting and analyzing test results
- Maintaining and calibrating equipment to ensure accurate test results
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, the following qualifications are required:
- Completion of an accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology program
- Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R.EEG.T) or equivalent certification
- Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in Neurodiagnostics
- Knowledge of EEG, NCS, and IONM procedures and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
