The Role of a Sterile Processing Tech at Bay Regional Medical Center

At Bay Regional Medical Center, we are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Sterile Processing Tech to join our team. As a Sterile Processing Tech, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients by meticulously cleaning, sterilizing, and maintaining medical equipment and instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
  • Inspect instruments for damage and functionality
  • Organize and assemble instrument trays for surgical procedures
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels of supplies
  • Collaborate with surgical and nursing staff to ensure the availability of sterile instruments and equipment

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certified Sterile Processing Tech (CST) preferred
  • Prior experience in sterile processing or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to infection control protocols
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
