Responsibilities of a Labor and Delivery Nurse
A labor and delivery nurse plays a crucial role in providing care, support, and guidance to expectant mothers throughout their labor and delivery process. In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Assessing the mother's condition and monitoring vital signs during labor.
- Assisting with pain management techniques, such as breathing exercises and medication administration.
- Monitoring fetal heart rates and recognizing any signs of distress.
- Providing emotional support and reassurance to both the mother and her family.
- Assisting with the delivery process and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
- Collaborating with doctors, midwives, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care.
- Providing post-partum care and educating new mothers on infant care techniques.
Qualifications and Requirements
In order to be considered for this position, we expect you to meet the following qualifications:
- Hold a valid nursing license in the state of Idaho.
- Have a minimum of 2 years of labor and delivery nursing experience.
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Show proficiency in fetal monitoring and neonatal resuscitation.
- Possess a strong attention to detail and the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
