Responsibilities of a CMA - Central Pediatric Clinical
As a Certified Medical Assistant in our Central Pediatric Clinical department, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to our young patients. Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting Pediatricians: You will work closely with Pediatricians during examinations, treatments, and procedures. This may involve taking vital signs, collecting and recording patient information, and preparing examination rooms.
- Administering Medications: Under the direct supervision of a physician, you may be responsible for administering medications or vaccines to patients.
- Performing Diagnostic Tests: CMAs may be required to perform various diagnostic tests, such as collecting specimens, conducting basic lab tests, or assisting with X-rays.
- Providing Patient Support: You will provide compassionate care and emotional support to young patients and their families. This may include explaining procedures, answering questions, and addressing concerns.
- Maintaining Medical Records: Accurate and detailed record-keeping is essential. CMAs are responsible for documenting patient information, updating medical charts, and ensuring confidentiality.
Qualifications and Requirements
To be eligible for our CMA - Central Pediatric Clinical job, you must meet the following requirements:
- Certification: Must have a valid certification as a Medical Assistant. Additional certifications specific to Pediatrics are a plus.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Completion of a recognized Medical Assistant training program is preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience working in a Pediatric or similar clinical setting is highly desirable.
