Role of a Transfer Center RN

As a Transfer Center RN, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and facilitating the transfer of patients from other healthcare facilities to Bay Regional Medical Center. Your expertise in evaluating and assessing patients' needs, collaborating with healthcare teams, and ensuring seamless transitions will be instrumental in providing quality care and improving patient outcomes. This dynamic role requires excellent communication skills, critical thinking abilities, and a strong commitment to patient advocacy.

Job Responsibilities

As a Transfer Center RN, your responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating and triaging inbound patient transfers
  • Identifying appropriate care settings and available resources
  • Coordinating logistics for safe and efficient transfers
  • Communicating with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff
  • Providing clinical guidance and support to referring facilities
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives
  • Adhering to established protocols and guidelines
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for the Transfer Center RN position, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and compliance
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and weekends
