About the Sterile Processing Tech Position

As a Sterile Processing Tech at Bay Regional Medical Center, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our healthcare processes. Your primary responsibility will be to clean, sterilize, and prepare medical equipment and instruments for surgeries and various procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and decontaminate medical instruments
  • Assemble, package, and label sterilized equipment
  • Operate and maintain sterilization equipment
  • Keep accurate records of processed equipment
  • Coordinate with healthcare staff to ensure timely availability of sterile supplies
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards
  • Perform routine maintenance and quality checks on equipment

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Sterile Processing Technician certification
  • Prior experience in a sterile processing role
  • Strong understanding of infection control practices
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work evening, night, and weekend shifts
