About the EMT Dispatcher PRN Position

We are currently hiring for the EMT Dispatcher PRN position in DES MOINES, Iowa. This position plays a critical role in our emergency response team, ensuring timely and accurate communication during emergency situations. As an EMT Dispatcher, you will utilize your knowledge of emergency medical services and dispatch protocols to coordinate efficient responses and provide exceptional service to callers.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process emergency calls, obtaining essential information from callers
  • Determine the appropriate response and dispatch appropriate emergency personnel and resources
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all activities
  • Monitor and track the status of emergency units
  • Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers, including life-saving techniques if necessary
  • Collaborate with other emergency personnel and agencies to ensure effective response and patient care
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations, policies, and protocols

Requirements

  • Valid EMT certification
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and make critical decisions under pressure
  • Familiarity with emergency medical dispatch protocols and procedures
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of dispatch software
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced and unpredictable environment
