Responsibilities
- Manage Workers Compensation Claims: As a (REMOTE) Workers Compensation Claims Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of workers' compensation claims. This includes reviewing and assessing claims, communicating with relevant stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with legal and company policies.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with internal departments, insurance providers, and legal professionals to gather necessary documentation, negotiate settlements, and resolve claims efficiently. Excellent communication skills are essential to effectively liaise with various parties involved.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all workers' compensation claims, including incident reports, medical records, and correspondence. Prepare comprehensive reports and analyses for management, highlighting trends and areas for improvement.
- Risk Assessment and Prevention: Conduct regular assessments to identify potential risks and hazards in the workplace. Implement preventive measures, safety programs, and training sessions to mitigate future claims.
- Stay Informed about Regulations: Stay updated with the latest workers' compensation laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and make necessary adjustments to policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Experience and Education: Minimum of 5 years of experience in workers' compensation claims management, preferably in the healthcare industry. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred, but equivalent experience will also be considered.
- Knowledge and Skills: In-depth knowledge of workers' compensation laws, regulations, and medical terminology. Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess claim validity and negotiate settlements. Excellent organizational and time management skills are essential.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels. Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities to handle complex claims and disputes.
- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of claim documentation. Strong problem-solving skills to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and prevent future incidents.
- Computer Proficiency: Proficient in using claims management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant tools. Familiarity with electronic medical records systems is an advantage.
