About the Role

As a Lactation Consultant with Bay Regional Medical Center, you will play a vital role in supporting and educating new mothers on breastfeeding techniques and addressing any related concerns. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing and monitoring breastfeeding habits and challenges
  • Providing guidance and support on proper latch and positioning
  • Offering advice on managing common breastfeeding difficulties
  • Educating mothers on the benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and baby
  • Assisting with breast pump usage and milk expression
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care
  • Conducting educational sessions and classes for expectant and new mothers

Requirements

To be considered for the Lactation Consultant position at Bay Regional Medical Center, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  1. Hold a valid certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
  2. Have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Lactation Consultant
  3. Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  4. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of breastfeeding techniques and challenges
  5. Strong ability to provide emotional support and guidance to new mothers
  6. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  7. Adherence to professional standards and ethical guidelines
