Responsibilities and Qualifications

As a Pediatric PCT, you will be responsible for assisting in the provision of direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses or physicians. Your duties may include:

  • Taking vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, and heart rate, accurately and documenting them
  • Assisting with patient hygiene, comfort, and mobility
  • Administering medications under the direction of healthcare professionals
  • Preparing and maintaining patient rooms and equipment
  • Providing emotional support to pediatric patients and their families

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Successful completion of a certified Pediatric Patient Care Technician training program
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
