  • Dispatch appropriate medical personnel, ambulances, or other emergency vehicles
  • Maintain communication with responding units to provide additional information or updates
  • Monitor and track the status of ongoing emergency incidents
  • Collaborate with other dispatchers, medical staff, and emergency response teams
  • Document all emergency calls, responses, and actions taken

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in the role of an EMS Dispatcher, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
  • Familiarity with emergency medical terminology and procedures
