Job Responsibilities

As an Oncology Pharmacist at Bay Regional Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in the delivery of cancer care. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Pharmaceutical Consultation

Working closely with the oncology team, you will provide expert pharmaceutical advice and ensure proper medication management for cancer patients. This includes reviewing prescriptions, monitoring drug interactions, and evaluating treatment plans.

2. Chemotherapy Preparation

You will be responsible for compounding and preparing chemotherapy medications, adhering strictly to the established safety protocols and guidelines. Your attention to detail and expertise will contribute to the safe administration of cancer treatments.

3. Patient Education

Empowering patients with knowledge is a vital aspect of cancer care. As an Oncology Pharmacist, you will educate patients and their families on medication usage, potential side effects, and recommended lifestyle modifications. Your guidance will support patients in managing their treatment effectively.

Qualifications and Requirements

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • A valid PharmD license in the state of Illinois
  • Specialized training or certification in oncology pharmacy
  • Prior clinical experience in an oncology setting
  • Strong understanding of chemotherapy drugs and their side effects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
