Your Role as a Phlebotomist

As a Phlebotomist at Bay Regional Medical Center, you will play a vital role in our healthcare delivery system. You will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients for laboratory testing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to strict protocols. Your attention to detail and ability to put patients at ease will contribute to our commitment to excellence.

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform venipunctures and capillary punctures to collect blood samples
  • Verify patient information and maintain accurate records
  • Properly handle and transport specimens ensuring integrity
  • Follow established protocols and safety guidelines
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare team members
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Provide exceptional patient care and maintain patient confidentiality

Qualifications and Skills

To qualify for this position, you should meet the following requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program
  • Valid certification as a phlebotomist
  • Prior experience in a clinical setting is preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal abilities
