Job Description

As a Sterile Processing Tech at Bay Regional Medical Center, you will play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness, functionality, and sterility of medical equipment and instruments. Your attention to detail and adherence to strict protocols will directly impact patient safety and improve overall healthcare outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting, assembling, and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment according to established guidelines and industry standards
  • Ensuring proper functioning and maintenance of sterilization equipment
  • Stocking and distributing sterile supplies and instruments to various departments
  • Handling and disposing of hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations
  • Maintaining accurate documentation of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to meet patient and departmental needs

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a Sterile Processing Technician training program or equivalent experience
  • Certification by a recognized accreditation body (e.g., CRCST)
  • Knowledge of sterilization methods, infection control protocols, and medical terminology
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
