What Does a Lead Surgical Technician Do?

A Lead Surgical Technician plays a crucial role in the operating room by assisting surgeons and other medical professionals during surgical procedures. They are responsible for setting up and organizing surgical instruments, ensuring all equipment is sterile, and maintaining a sterile environment throughout the procedure. The Lead Surgical Technician also supervises and trains other surgical technicians to ensure the smooth operation of the surgical team.

Requirements for the Lead Surgical Technician Position

To be considered for the Lead Surgical Technician position at Bay Regional Medical Center, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Completion of an accredited surgical technician program
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a surgical technician
  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
