The Role of the High Risk Antepartum Registered Nurse

As a High Risk Antepartum Registered Nurse (HRPC) at Bay Regional Medical Center, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized care to pregnant women experiencing high-risk conditions during their pregnancy. This is a challenging yet rewarding position that demands expertise, compassion, and the ability to adapt to ever-changing situations.

Comprehensive Care for High-Risk Pregnancies

High-risk pregnancies require specialized attention to ensure the well-being of both the mother and the unborn child. By closely monitoring the health and progress of pregnant women, HRPC nurses play a vital role in identifying potential complications and providing appropriate intervention.

As a High Risk Antepartum Registered Nurse, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including obstetricians, perinatologists, and neonatologists, to develop and execute comprehensive care plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient. You will be responsible for monitoring vital signs, performing regular assessments, administering medications, assisting with procedures, and providing emotional support throughout the entire antepartum period.

Expertise in High-Risk Conditions

Our HRPC nurses possess a deep understanding of a wide range of high-risk conditions that may arise during pregnancy. These conditions include, but are not limited to:

  • Gestational hypertension
  • Preeclampsia
  • Gestational diabetes
  • Intrauterine growth restriction
  • Placenta previa
  • Preterm labor
  • Multiples (twins, triplets, etc.)
  • Fetal anomalies
