We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) to join our Emergency Department team.

About the Role

As an LCSW/LCPC in our Emergency Department, you will be an integral part of the healthcare team, providing vital support to patients experiencing various mental health challenges. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Crisis Intervention and Assessment

Utilizing your expertise in crisis intervention, you will evaluate patients' mental health needs and provide immediate support to individuals in distress. Through comprehensive assessments, you will determine appropriate treatment plans and interventions, ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.

2. Collaborative Care

You will work closely with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and psychiatrists, to develop integrated care plans tailored to each patient's unique needs. Your strong communication skills will be instrumental in ensuring effective coordination and continuity of care.

3. Patient Education and Advocacy

Empowering patients and their families is an essential aspect of this role. You will provide education on mental health conditions, available resources, and coping strategies, serving as an advocate for patients within the healthcare system and helping to reduce the stigma associated with mental health.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling
  • Current LCSW or LCPC licensure in the state of Illinois
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mental health or crisis intervention
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based treatment approaches
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in electronic medical record systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on department needs
