Job Responsibilities
- Perform routine laboratory tests and procedures, including handling and processing of tissue specimens.
- Operate laboratory equipment and maintain proper functioning and cleanliness of instruments.
- Prepare and stain tissue specimens for microscopic examination.
- Assist pathologists in specimen examination, analysis, and interpretation.
- Ensure accurate documentation and timely reporting of test results.
- Maintain laboratory inventory and order necessary supplies.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient workflow and patient care.
Qualifications
To be considered for the Lab Tech position in our Anatomic Pathology department, you should meet the following requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related field.
- Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) preferred.
- Prior experience working in an Anatomic Pathology laboratory setting.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and equipment.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols and guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
