Responsibilities of a Cardiac Monitor Tech
As a Cardiac Monitor Tech, your primary responsibility will be to monitor and interpret electrocardiogram (ECG) recordings in order to detect and report any abnormalities or changes in a patient's heart rhythm. You will work closely with physicians and nurses to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of patient care.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Placing electrodes on the patient's chest, arms, and legs to obtain accurate ECG recordings
- Operating and troubleshooting ECG machines and other monitoring equipment
- Recognizing and responding to emergency situations and assisting healthcare providers as needed
- Maintaining accurate patient records and documentation
- Collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the highest quality of patient care
Required Qualifications
In order to be considered for the Cardiac Monitor Tech position at Bay Regional Medical Center, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a certified cardiac monitoring technician program
- Valid CPR certification
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
