Responsibilities of a Resident Care Assistant

As a Resident Care Assistant (RCA), you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks to ensure the daily care and well-being of our residents. Your duties may include:

  • Assisting residents with their daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Monitoring and documenting residents' vital signs and medical conditions
  • Administering medications to residents as prescribed by healthcare professionals
  • Providing emotional and social support to residents
  • Assisting with meal planning and preparation, and feeding residents if needed
  • Engaging residents in recreational activities and social events
  • Ensuring a clean and safe environment for residents
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team to develop and implement care plans

Qualifications and requirements

To be successful as a Resident Care Assistant at Bay Regional Medical Center, you should possess the following qualifications and requirements:

  • Prior experience in a caregiving or healthcare role is preferred
  • Compassionate nature and genuine desire to help others
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility in working different shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Valid CPR and First Aid certifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
