Job Description

As a Full-time Hospice Medical Director at Bay Regional Medical Center, you will play a vital role in providing quality end-of-life care to our patients. You will oversee and manage the comprehensive medical services offered by our hospice program and work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest level of patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical leadership and direction for the hospice program
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Evaluate and manage patients' medical needs, including pain and symptom management
  • Conduct regular patient evaluations and make appropriate adjustments to the care plan
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and standards of care
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
  • Provide education and support to patients, families, and staff members
  • Coordinate and communicate with other healthcare professionals involved in the patient's care
  • Stay current with advancements in hospice care and integrate evidence-based practices into the program

Qualifications

  • Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine
  • Board certification in Hospice and Palliative Medicine
  • Valid medical license in the state of Maryland
  • Prior experience in hospice or palliative care
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Compassion and empathy towards patients and their families
