Your Role as a Staff Chaplain

As a Staff Chaplain at Bay Regional Medical Center, you will play a vital role in providing spiritual guidance and support to patients, their families, and our healthcare team. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Offering emotional and spiritual support to patients and their families during times of illness, trauma, or loss
  • Conducting religious services and rituals for patients of various faith backgrounds
  • Providing counseling and pastoral care to patients and their loved ones

  • Participating in interdisciplinary meetings and contributing to patient care plans
  • Providing education and support to the healthcare team regarding spiritual care practices

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  1. A Master's degree in Divinity, Theology, or a related field from an accredited institution
  2. Ordination or endorsement by a recognized religious organization
  3. Experience working as a chaplain or in a similar role is preferred
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  5. Ability to provide spiritual care to individuals from diverse religious and cultural backgrounds
  6. Compassion, empathy, and a genuine desire to support others
